HOLY FUCK CONFIRM EXTENSIVE FALL TOUR! 20 Aug 2010
Toronto's Holy Fuck resurfaced as a 4-piece earlier this year with the announcement of their excellent new album Latin (out now on Young Turks) and have kept busy ever since!
The group, now made up of Brian Borcherdt, Graham Walsh, Matt Schulz, and Matt McQuaid toured earlier this Summer, and found time to play an electrifying headlining set at this year's Siren Music Festival in New York's Coney Island.
Most recently, their song "Latin America" was featured in the new Michael Cera film, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
An MP3 is available for the song here: http://www.beggarsgroupusa.com/mp3/HolyFuck_LatinAmerica.mp3
...and the music video for "Latin America" directed by Yoonha Park is available here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd5gVwbRlvk
Now we're excited to confirm that the quartet plan to hit the road some more! They'll be kicking things off on September 8th in Louisville, KY with plans to continue on hitting many stops in the U.S. and Canada through the end of October!
SEE ALL DATES BELOW.
Praise for Holy Fuck and Latin:
"The Toronto-based collective goes all out on its third album, "Latin," which features lead members Brian Borcherdt and Graham Walsh's spacey keyboards and effects supplemented by the powerful live drums and bass of {Matt Schulz and Matt McQuaid}." Billboard
"Holy Fuck has spent the last six years developing a sublime brand of post-post-rock that owes as much to classic Krautrock and guitar nerdery as it does minimal techno." XLR8R

The xx Confirm Fall Tour -- last chance to see them play this year!!
The xx Confirm August 4 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!!!
The xx Confirmed To Play August 6 At Lollapalooza and August 8 At NYC’s Central Park SummerStage!
“xx: A Sculpture Of The Album” By Saam Farahmand On Display This Weekend In NYC!!
By summer’s end The xx will have played Coachella, Sasquatch! Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo festivals in the US. They will have also played to thousands more people as a result of their extensive touring in the US (sold-out, headlining of course). Lest 2010 close without another chance to see them, The xx is now confirmed for a North American jaunt this fall which will mark the last chance to see the band play for quite a while. The run of dates will see the band making stops on the West Coast, the Midwest, Canada, and the Northeast before its conclusion in Texas, notably performing at this year's Austin City Limits festival. The tour kicks off September 22 at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium (yes, capacity 4k) and hits NYC’s United Palace (capacity 3200) on winds up at Austin's Zilker Park for Austin City Limits on October 9. Following this The xx will head back to the UK for a much-deserved break. Full tour dates listed below.
Previous to the fall tour, The xx are excited to announce they will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The show will tape and air on August 4. The band will then make a quick stop in Chicago for a set at Lollapalooza (Friday, August 6) make their way to NYC for Central Park’s SummerStage just two days later (Sunday, August 8) before heading back to Europe for... more touring!
This coming Saturday, June 26, as part of the Creators Project, Milk Studios (450 West 15th Street) will host "xx: A Sculpture of the Album" by Saam Farahmand. The xx have teamed up with the acclaimed music video director Saam Farahmand for a unique audio-visual collaboration. In the piece, Saam creates a 3D physical interpretation of The xx’s debut xx. Utilizing film, light and sound via three specially created audio-visual units (each unit representing one member of the band with a mix of exclusively filmed footage and mixed sound), every visitor will have a totally unique experience of xx. This event will showcase the recorded album format in a whole new context. In an era where access to music is unlimited and often provides the background soundtrack to other experiences, this will be an opportunity to become totally immersed in the album in a whole new way. Admission is free.

Holy Fuck confirm U.S. Tour Dates
New album Latin out May 11th on Young Turks/XL Recordings.
Toronto's Holy Fuck spent 2008 and 2009 touring like maniacs in support of their last album, entitled LP. What was previously their touring line-up has now become their official line-up, making Holy Fuck a proper four piece. The band resurfaced in mid-March of this year, first by announcing their new album Latin via Chatroulette, and then playing some face-melting live performances as this year's SXSW one week later.
Next up, they'll come back for a very special preview date in NYC on April 23rd, head to Europe in early May, and make their way back to the U.S. for a slew of Tour Dates in late May following the release of Latin.

Alegranza By El Guincho Due In Stores In October 14 Aug 2008
"Like M.I.A.'s hippie boyfriend, collagist du jour Pablo Diaz-Reixa airlifts you into a block-party DMZ where voices exult, steel drums ping, rhythms rumble, and synths ricochet." Spin
We are excited to announce that El Guincho's album, Alegranza, will be released by the Young Turks label on Tuesday, October 7.
Dee-Lite may have sung about the global village and the age of communication back in 1990, but it's taken until the 21st century for that dream to become a reality in music. Now the new world music has arrived and nobody presents it better than 24 year old Pablo Diaz-Reixa – aka El Guincho – a musician based in Barcelona and raised in the Canary Islands, who feeds traditional island song, African rhythms and sampled psychedelics through an MPC to create something entirely new.
“Palmitos Park,” the first single from the album, gets the party started with an infectious Spanish chorus, male harmonies and the sounds of a village cheering and celebrating. Then there's the rustic rave of “Cuando Maavilla Fui,” with its pulsating peasant chanting, as if to raise the dead. “Buenos Matrimonios Ahi Fuera” breezes the sounds of offshore winds and tinkling percussion through childlike playground choruses. And when “Fata Morgana” begins, it's as if somebody is opening the curtains onto the glorious technicolor of 1970s sunshine, with wonky old analogue synths that warp in the heat.
Customs officers round the world have been baffled by the man who travels with computers and broken bits of planks to play live shows where he controls the pile of equipment with his elbows. When you hear the record, you might be baffled too. But then you'll want to play it again and again.
US tour dates are in the works!!
"An exultant one-man carnival of sound" - Uncut
Barcelona’s El Guincho is the kind of guy who could never be in a band – his ideas are so meticulous and rich they’d be impossible to explain to a cloth-eared drummer. NME
"Alegranza! is a unique, exotic thrill from beginning to end" - Uncut
"Music that makes you feel like you've entered a higher state of consciousness" - Dazed & Confused
"A one man festival" - The Observer
